I am…

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you.” -John 15:16

I am a mother. Whether I like it or not I am. Whether I am competent or not, I am. From conception to childbirth, I am. God created me ready and able to become a mother. I didn’t choose myself, He chose me. There are many times I realize that I don’t know how to be all He has called me to be, but I hold on to this one truth… He chose me, created me & therefore I am.

I am helper, I am comfort,

I am healer, I am forgiveness,

I am bravery, I am strong,

I am giving, I am kind,

I am teacher, I am patience,

I am courageous, I am discipline,

I am safety, I am encouragement,

I am wisdom, I am support,

I am loyal, I am trust,

I am passion, I am love… I am a mother…

Happy Mother’s Day & blessings to all the mothers out there and a special blessing to my mother. Words can not express my appreciation, gratitude, admiration and love for you. You are the woman chosen by God to be my compass not only as I transformed from a girl to a woman, but also as a wife and today as a mother. It is amazing to know that when God thought of me… He created you. How wonderful are His thoughts towards me. I love you mami…

the moon and the stars,
which you have set in place,

human beings that you care for them?” -Psalm 8:3-4

Every step I take!

“In their hearts humans plan their course,

but the Lord establishes their steps.” -Proverbs 16:9

Its easy to say, “I’m trusting Him with the rest”.
Let’s take thought for a minute here – “… with the rest”. We have a way of first exhausting our own human efforts and strengths. And we come find that our efforts fail us and only take us so far. Today I challenge you to trust Him from the beginning. From the thought process, to every step there after. No matter if we succeed or fail! No matter what problem or decision, big or small. He wants to walk every step of the way with us. We do not have to do it alone. He will encourage us every step of the way. How you ask?… by reading His word and His Spirit in us will remind us that we are not alone.

“This is what the Lord says to his anointed, to (insert your name), whose right hand I take hold of to subdue nations before him and to strip kings of their armor, to open doors before him so that gates will not be shut: I will go before you and will level the mountains; I will break down gates of bronze and cut through bars of iron. I will give you hidden treasures, riches stored in secret places, so that you may know that I am the Lord, the God of Israel, who summons you by name. (Isaiah 45:1-3 NIV)

Wow this is amazing! What a great feeling to know that our God is mighty and He goes before us. Wouldn’t you want the one who makes the impossible, possible with you every step of the way? With every move, every step and thought we make… let’s start in Him & with Him!! Get into His word and seek Him daily with your whole heart and you will see how things begin to change!!

The Tent of Meeting

“For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand. I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my God, than to dwell in the tents of wickedness.” -Psalm 84:10

Exodus 33:7-11… 7 Moses used to take a tent and set it up a long way outside the camp; he called it the “Meeting Tent.” Anyone who wanted to ask the Lord about something would go to the Meeting Tent outside the camp.8 Whenever Moses went out to the Tent, all the people would rise and stand at the entrances of their tents, watching him until he entered the Meeting Tent.9 When Moses went into the Tent, the pillar of cloud would always come down and stay at the entrance of the Tent while the Lord spoke with Moses.10 Whenever the people saw the pillar of cloud at the entrance of the Tent, they stood and worshiped, each person at the entrance of his own tent.11 The Lord spoke to Moses face to face as a man speaks with his friend. Then Moses would return to the camp, but Moses’ young helper, Joshua son of Nun, did not leave the Tent.

  • v.7: There is a place just like in the Old Testament where we all go to meet and gather. Where “anyone” who wants to ask the Lord something can come and pitch his tent. This place is known as the church (& other activities within the church). Church is a place we go to seek God and not for the purpose of others.
  • Note: It is clear that this place of meeting was separate from the camp. Away from the comfort zones, usual surroundings, all the busy noise and stress. A special place where everyone seeking God came together. Where is your meeting tent?
    • I have heard many say, “I don’t need to go to church to hear from God”, “I can do church from home”, “I don’t need anyone to teach me”, “I read the bible on my own”… etc.
    • The bible encourages us not to forget to meet or come together. If you are able to go to church then GO!
  • v.8: It is awesome that everyone who went to the meeting tent recognized Moses as chosen from God to speak to His people. They knew God was with Moses; they respected him and followed his good example. Same goes with our Pastors, church/youth leaders, bible study and Sunday school teachers. Paul in the New Testament encourages others to follow his good example, because his example was Christ.
  • v.9-10: What happens when we get together? Not only can we find encouragement & love, but it is an opportunity to learn from other mature Christians, learn about false teachings and prepares us for His return. Most importantly… the presence of God is there with us!!! Where the presence of God is there is joy, peace and we are free to worship & praise Him.
  • v.11: The more we seek God the more He is able to prepare us to get back to our daily routines, tasks, duties and responsibilities. He also gives us strength to share and show others with our lives the difference there is when we truly seek God.

When we give God our time and seek His presence things begin to change. Are you ready for that change?
