Stand in the Gap

Tired? Need to relax & unwind? Can’t wait for the weekend or some time off from work, kids or house duties?

Today we are so eager and so easily satisfied with me time, girl time, movie time, time with the guys, etc. This is usually what takes up most of our RR or rest and relaxation time. We need to get back to what really satisfies. Lets not live our lives looking for ways to fill in the gap, but I challenge you to stand in the gap.

prayer

THE GAP: There are gaps that we have to create and some we are thrown into, but no matter the circumstances of how we get there, just stand.

While I stand in the gap it is an opportunity to empty myself. Doing so I am making more room, which in-turn often feels like a larger void then what I started in. There in the quiet and in the stillness, it seems almost painful at first, but in patience and with faith… I wait for Him… just wait for Him to fill the gap in my life.

You will find Him in the gap of your day off, vacation time, routine jog, morning coffee, in the shower, quiet time, your alone time, in the middle of your pain, sadness, your boredom, insomnia, sickness, fears, singleness, through the death of a loved one, in your addiction, in your depression, failures, the darkest & loneliest nights. He will even be there when you create a gap in your successes, victories, joys & new beginnings. In every season of our life… just…

“Be still, and know that I am God; Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you.” -Psalm 46:10; Matthew 11:28; 1 Peter 5:7
