Gratitude is my attitude!

“I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.” –Philippians 4:11-13

Ever wish you had just a little more than what you have now. Ever feel like what you have at the present time is not enough and no longer satisfying. You know, this feeling is all to familiar and many are often blinded by the vicious cycle of walking into every opportunity to have just little bit more. Unfortunately, the truth is that none of these opportunities leave us completely satisfied.

Here in these verse, Paul isn’t saying it is wrong to have little nor that it is wrong to have much. What he is trying to teach us is a state of being… content. Contentment isn’t a bad thing. Some people may believe that a person who is content is one who lacks desire, self-esteem, drive, ambition or motivation to better oneself and their future. What is prosperity? When will I reach contentment?

The word of God says if we are faithful with little, we will be faithful with much. I believe that this is speaking about both spiritual and material prosperity. God desires us to prosper, but where do we start? What does it look like? It starts with you seeking the kingdom of God, and HIS righteousness. Then all the things you NEED will be given to you.

Do you want peace of mind, mental and emotional satisfaction?

“Whom have I in heaven but thee? and there is none upon earth that I desire beside thee.” –Psalm 73:25

“Delight thyself also in the Lord: and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.” –Psalm 37:4

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.” –Philippians 4:19
